A Candidate for the People
Joshua Crowder is a candidate fighting for working Louisvillians. He will fight to create a Louisville that works for all of us — not just the wealthy elite.
Born to a working-class family in the Algonquin neighborhood of West Louisville, Joshua Alexander Crowder has seen how things grow more and more difficult every day for working people in Louisville. He knows that the old way of doing things has failed. As a Teamster, a labor organizer, member of the Sunrise Movement, and organizer with the Democratic Socialists of America, Joshua is part of a rapidly growing movement of working-class Louisvillians fighting for a more just and equitable city.

Where Joshua stands
With working-class Louisvillians struggling to make ends meet and our planet under threat, we can’t just talk about progressive change. It’s time for us to act.
FOR NEIGHBORHOODS NOT DEVELOPERS
We can’t afford to continue living in a city run at the whims of developers while our communities suffer. It’s time to shift towards a solidarity economy that prioritizes community well-being over corporate handouts. I will work to end the trend of TIF (Tax Increment Financing) corporate giveaways and to redirect those resources toward public health, libraries, and social services. By fostering a solidarity economy, we can build a more just and equitable foundation that benefits everyone in our community.
TAKE BACK OUR PUBLIC SERVICES
City budgets are moral documents that reflect our priorities and how we relate to one another. We are witnessing the disastrous effects of Louisville city budgets that have for too long starved our crucial public services like libraries, transit, parks, community centers, and swimming pools. On Metro Council, I will work to fix and restore our public services and to build a sustainable, climate-resilient future for our city.
For A Worker-Led Democracy
When elected, I pledge to build a worker-led democracy where the voices and rights of working families are at the forefront of decision-making. I will champion policies that empower workers, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and the right to organize. Together, we’ll build an inclusive democracy that prioritizes the prosperity and well-being of those who contribute to our collective success.
